The Fresh Market, a North Carolina based small-box fresh-food chain, is looking for sites throughout the New York metro area. James Dewey, real estate manager for The Fresh Market, said the chain was interested in of around 20,000 sq.ft., primarily in upscale neighborhoods throughout New Jersey and Long Island, and communities north of New York City.
The Fresh Market currently operates 70 stores in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest US, and does not currently operate any locations in New Jersey or New York. Dewey said the chain intends to grow its overall store base by 20% annually.
