Moet Hennessy, part of the LVMH group, has announced that it has acquired the operations of the Montaudon champagne house. No financial details of the deal were provided.
Founded in 1891, the Montaudon family business is a traditional champagne house, whose products are sold in 26 countries, including France. The business now joins LVMH's portfolio of champagne brands such as Dom Perignon, Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, Krug, Ruinart and Mercier.
Christophe Navarre, Chairman of Moet Hennessy, noted, "The acquisition of Montaudon enables us to complete our portfolio of prestigious brands and to increase our champagne reserves. This corresponds with Moet Hennessy's strategy to strengthen its worldwide leadership in the luxury wines and spirits sector."
