Two US bottlers are set to get new owners, in separate deals announced within the last day. Japanese brewer Suntory Ltd announced that it has acquired Idaho-based soft drink bottler Nagel Beverage, as it looks to expand outside its home market.
With the deal, Suntory has acquired Nagel’s assets and exclusive rights to sell PepsiCo products in Idaho. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
Separately, the Pepsi Bottling Group announced that it plans to buy Texan bottler Better Beverages, as it looks to expand its operations. Better Beverages is a franchised bottler of the Pepsi-Cola and Dr. Pepper brands, and serves 20 Texas counties.
No financial details of the deal, which is set to be completed in the second quarter, were disclosed.
