INDIA: United Spirits Buys Smaller Domestic Rival
Alcohol giant United Spirits has announced that it has acquired privately-owned domestic spirits maker Tern Distilleries, in a deal estimated at Rs.134m ($3m). The group said Tern owns a manufacturing facility in Visakhapatnam District, and is based in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Tern is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of United Spirits.
