Musgrave has confirmed that it will launch its SuperValu own brand range at Budgens and Londis stores next month. The range is already available in the Republic of Ireland and this will mark the first time that the brand is also available in Britain and Northern Ireland.
Musgrave has invested £1.5m in developing the range, which comprises over 1,000 new lines for Budgens stores and around 500 for Londis, replacing the smaller Budgens and Londis own brand ranges.
Donal Horgan, Managing Director Musgrave Retail Partners GB, said: “With customers facing many demands on their budgets the SuperValu range enables retailers to provide their customers with better quality products at a lower price. We can now offer our retailers a breadth of range, where quality is key and all with a clear value message.”
Musgrave said the the SuperValu range stands for “super quality and super prices” with an average RSP that is 20% cheaper than leading brands. It features all the essentials required to cover everyday shopping needs and is expected to grow own brand sales by up to 20% year on year.
The range includes a mid-tier SuperValu range which is supported with an entry level own brand range, Daily Basics, which is priced with a RSP of 40% less than leading brands.
New products have also been added to group’s already award-winning fresh range. Sourced and selected in Britain, specifically for the GB market, fresh produce and fresh meat will be branded SuperValu from Budgens or SuperValu from Londis.
