Struggling retailer Mothercare has announced that Neil Harrington has resigned as an Executive Director and Finance Director of the company to take a role with a private equity organisation.
The group said it is commencing a search for a replacement immediately and a further announcement will be made in due course regarding the timing of Harrington's departure. He will remain with the business for the time being to ensure an orderly hand over of responsibilities
Harrington joined Mothercare in January 2006 and has contributed to Mothercare's development as a strong international brand, with over 1,300 stores worldwide.
Early this month, the mother and baby goods retailer announced that will close another 111 UK stores over the next three years as struggles against tough competition from the supermarkets and online operators.
