S. AFRICA: Woolworths Holdings Unveils New Takeaway Café

Woolworths Holdings has launched a new quick-service café banner in South Africa, called ‘NOW NOW’.

The first outlet has opened near the Woolworths headquarters in Cape Town’s City Bowl, with two more outlets planned in the city.  The café aims to offer affordable and fresh food (prices between 10-55 rand), and caters to the breakfast and lunch markets.  Orders can be done via the NOW NOW app for pick-up later at the café.

The menu has a strong focus on healthy items, such as breakfast bowls of free-range eggs with accompaniments of oak-smoked trout and avocados; a citrus pot containing orange, grapefruit, pomegranate, almonds and mint; salad bowls containing peppered mackerel and quinoa.  It also offers smoothies, juiced ‘shots’, and has an extensive coffee menu.
