Woolworths Ltd has announced the second overhaul of its customer loyalty programme in 10 months, after complaints over the changes brought in last year.
Effective 31 August 2016, customers will now earn Woolworths Points for every dollar spent at Woolworths supermarkets, BWS stores and Caltex Woolworths outlets. Customers will earn double points on items from essential household categories, including launch deals on fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meat and at the deli and seafood counter, as well as increased personalised offers on items they buy regularly.
On accumulating 2,000 points, they can convert them into an A$10 discount at the checkout, or 870 Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
Woolworths admitted its previous revamp hadn’t worked, noting: “We didn’t deliver enough orange ticket offers in-store and, while many of our members have been rewarded well, too many have not”. The group added: “This isn’t the end of improvements to our loyalty program. We’ll continue to listen to our members and introduce new, attractive features to evolve the programme in line with member preferences and feedback.”
