Sligro Food, the Dutch wholesaler, has seen its first-half sales grow by 2.2% to €1.36bn, on like-for-like growth of 1.6%. Net profit amounted to €28m, while EBITDA came in at €66m.
Sligro said it expects full-year sales growth to be similar to last year’s figures.
Russian grocer Lenta saw its second-quarter sales jump up 21.8% to 73.6bn roubles, on like-for-like growth of 4.9%. The group said it an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 9.8% for the half, down from 10.2% last year, due to discounts and other marketing activities.
Lenta said it is on track to open at least 40 hypermarkets this year, the most it will have ever opened in a single calendar year.
Finnish drugstore major Oriola-KD saw its first-half sales edge up 0.8% to €821.5m, with adjusted operating profit up 2.1% to €28.7m. The group said the results were in line with expectations.
Oriola-KD estimates its full-year net sales to match last year’s figures on a constant-currency basis, while adjusted operating profit is estimated to remain flat or grow slightly.
