Brookshire Grocery has agreed to buy 25 stores that formerly operated under the Walmart Express banner.
The deal includes 20 outlets in Texas and five stores in Louisiana, all of which were shut down earlier this year. Brookshire said it will convert them to a new banner called ‘Spring Market’.
Brookshire currently operates 152 outlets across Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. It noted: “Our Spring Market stores will stand for friendly service, quality products, affordable convenience and a pleasant shopping environment”.
No financial details of the deal, which is expected to be completed in July, were disclosed.
