Kroger has expanded its analytics arm, 84.51°, by merging the unit with Cincinnati-based firm Market6. No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
Market6 specialises in collaborative analytics for retailers and suppliers and focuses on product movement data solutions and capabilities in data, insights and customer experience. Using a proprietary web-based collaboration platform, Market6 focuses on optimised inventory, execution of more effective promotions, and optimisation of new product introductions and lower incidences of out of stock items in store.
Kroger said it will leverage Market6’s technology, IP and people to expand its existing agreements with regional grocery retailers and the CPG business. Stuart Aitken, CEO of 84.51°, noted: “Market6’s technology and people will be key to further enhancing how we communicate with Kroger customers in the most personalised and relevant ways. With Market6, CPG suppliers will now have a single provider for Kroger specific product movement data and customer insights to better understand customer preferences.”
