J.M. Smucker has announced plans to cut the price of packaged coffee in the US by 6%, matching a similar move made in July 2015.
The group said its decision was prompted by lower prices of coffee beans, adding that it will also affect products sold under the Folgers and Dunkin’ Donuts brands. The cuts, however, do not extend to the K-Cup pods.
Smucker noted: “For the last several quarters, lower green coffee costs were reflected in promotional pricing for the majority of our packaged coffee products, and we do not anticipate those prices changing significantly”.
