Target has launched a new programme in the US through which it is inviting online pitches from tech-based startups.
As part of the ‘Pitch to Pilot’ programme, the discounter has created a new portal through which startups can submit their proposals. Target says the submission form takes 15 minutes to complete, and it is promising a response within 30 days.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Target is only looking for proposals to help improve the in-store and digital customer experience, and not for products to sell at its stores or online.
The move comes just months after its ‘Techstars’ programme, which saw it work with 11 startups on a variety of issues. It also ties in with the chain’s aims of improving its e-commerce offer and experience.
