Aldi has relaunched its entire range of top tier beef and replaced it with premium Aberdeen Angus, effective 28 September.
The 100% British Aberdeen Angus beef will be matured for 30 days using Himalayan Salt, a process that gives improved tenderness and flavour that can only be produced by dry ageing beef on the bone. To further enhance the flavour, Aldi installed Himalayan Salt bricks into the dry ageing chambers to help draw moisture out of the air and by doing so helped to intensify the flavour of the meat even more. The salt purifies the air within the chambers whilst Aldi’s Aberdeen Angus Beef matures.
Aldi and will offer four variants under the ‘Specially Selected’ line – Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus Sirloin Steak (227g/£4.49), Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus Ribeye Steak (227g/£4.49), Dry Aged Aberdeen Angus Rump Steak (227g/£3.79)m and Aberdeen Angus Fillet Steak (170g/£4.99).
Tony Baines, Joint MD of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said: “At Aldi we are proud to offer customers the finest quality products at everyday low prices. The introduction of the Aberdeen Angus Steak range continues this commitment, as well as our dedication to support UK farms through the sourcing of local produce.
