Almondy Celebrates 15th Anniversary Of ‘Daim’

Swedish brand Almondy is celebrating the 15th anniversary of its bestselling brand, Almondy Daim, as well as a return to IKEA. Almondy_daim

Combining the traditional Swedish almond base with the brittle caramel and smooth chocolate of the DAIM bar, Almondy Daim cake remains the company’s most popular variety world-wide, selling 770,000 cakes through UK retail alone. The range, which doesn’t contain flour, also has the added advantage of being naturally gluten-free.

In recent research by Almondy, 16% of consumers claimed to have a food intolerance, while 38% of people choose to eat Free From food as part of a healthy lifestyle – and this figure looks set to rise as more people make a similar life choice.   And there is certainly a demand for cakes like Almondy as 58% of consumers questioned said they wanted to see more gluten free cakes in supermarkets.

Over the coming months, the company will also be rewarding consumers with the chance of winning a host of goodies through the Twitter account @AlmondyCake.

Almondy Daim is available from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Asda, Morrison’s, Ocado and, once again, IKEA as a branded product.  A 400g cake serves eight and costs around £3.00.
