Iceland Wins Big At Annual Supermeat And Fish Awards

Iceland Foods has picked up three accolades for its frozen food products at the prestigious Supermeat and Fish Awards 2016 – the biggest competition in the sector for meat, poultry and fish products.

The chain’s Seabass En Papillote was awarded ‘Best Overall Product’ and ‘Best Frozen Fish Product’, beating off stiff competition from Asda and Aldi, whilst the Peri Peri Chicken Skewers received the ‘Best Poultry Product’.

Nigel Broadhurst, joint MD of Iceland, said: “Our team works tirelessly, putting a huge amount of effort and energy into delivering an extensive frozen foods range that delivers on taste, quality and value for our customers, and these accolades are a true reflection of this hard work and passion. We’ve long advocated the benefits of frozen food – both in terms of nutrition and cost – and with our most recent Power of Frozen campaign it feels like shoppers are finally beginning to sit up and take notice.”

The retailer took home a further two awards in the store category for its Welsh warehouse: Best Welsh Store – Iceland Food Warehouse, Cardiff; and Best Frozen Meat and Fish Aisle – Iceland Food Warehouse, Cardiff.
