Nisa Launches Campaign To Celebrate Community Retailers

Nisa is celebrating its independent retailers with a competition to find the UK’s best community stores.

The competition, which runs from 20 June to 4 July, encourages consumers to nominate their favourite local Nisa store at a dedicated website ( for their positive impact on the community. Five winning stores will receive £1,000 into their Making a Difference Locally fund to donate to local causes and make even more of a difference to their community.

The initiative will be promoted via the Nisa Locally (@NisaLocally) and Making a Difference Locally (@MADLCharity) social media pages using the hashtag #lovetobelocal and forms part of Nisa’s Shop Local campaign, which coincides with Independents’ Day (4th July); a national initiative to celebrate independent retailers with a raft of celebrations and special promotions.

The competition looks to highlight the valuable contribution independent retailers make to their communities, and also to further engage consumers with the charity initiative in their local stores.

Making a Difference Locally (MADL) raises funds in Nisa member stores through the sale of items from the own-label Heritage range and a selection of branded products which carry charitable donations from the suppliers. Monies go into a virtual fund for the store to donate to a local charity or good cause within a 10 mile radius.
