Euro Garages has announced the appointment of Michael Hughes as its new Group Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.
He joins forecourt operator from Ausurus, parent company of European Metal Recycling, where he played a key role in the company’s international expansion, embedding over 50 acquisitions and raising over €2bn of both private and public capital during his time as CFO Prior to this, he held senior finance roles at Caudwell Communications and South Staffordshire Group plc/Home Service.
Hughes has replaced Finance Director, James Thornton, who Euro Garages said was leaving by mutual agreement.
Commenting on the appointment, Euro Garages’ Co-CEOs Mohsin Issa and Zuber Issa said: “We are delighted to have Michael on board. His extensive M&A and international experience will be extremely valuable as we continue to expand the group’s footprint, both in the UK and internationally.”
