Hot options in food to go hold untapped potential, according to new research from him! research & consulting. Its Food To Go study reveals that half of shoppers agreed that including a hot drink in a meal deal would make it more appealing and half agreed that an option of a hot meal deal would make purchasing a meal deal more appealing.

Him! conducted interviews with 1,200 shoppers face to face across 150 food to go outlets across the UK. Aside from analysis of shopper wants around meal deals, the study also sheds light on the perception of health in food to go. Calories and fat play a significant role in perceptions around health in food to go with 44% of shoppers saying that ‘low calories’ on a product suggests a healthy option.
