Clintons Looking To Capitalise On Thriving Chocolate Market With Launch Of Its Own Premium Bars

Card and gift retailer Clintons has launched its own brand of luxury chocolate under the name Cocoa Paradise.

The company said the venture was part of its commitment to expand its confectionery range and capitalise on the thriving chocolate industry, which is expected to continue growing at an annual rate close to 5% until 2020.

Clintons already stocks an array of boxed chocolate, including Ferrero Rocher, Lindt and Thorntons. And last year it launched a Clintons sweet shop brand which offers a variety of jars and ribbon tied bags with jazzys, milk bottles, liqourice all sorts, marshmallow lollipops and cola bottles inside.

The 100g Cocoa Paradise bars are made from cocoa beans sourced from farms around the world including Madagascar, Venezuela, Peru and Ecuador.  They are available in 12 different varieties and stocked in all 400 Clintons stores across the UK.  The bars, available in dark, milk and white, are priced at £1.99 when purchased with a card or £3 when purchased individually.

Tim Fairs, VP marketing & e-commerce at Clinton Cards, said: “Our Cocoa Paradise brand is unique in its taste and its packaging, offering customers high quality chocolate, globally sourced, with an exciting variety of flavours to suit all tastes.  It’s a perfect fit with our greetings range and expands our brand in parallel with our popular sweet shop.”
