John Lewis Confirms Departure Of Managing Director

The John Lewis Partnership has confirmed that Andy Street will step down as Managing Director of its department store chain on 28 October after being selected last night as the official Conservative Party candidate for the office of Mayor of the West Midlands.

Street has spent 31 years at the Partnership, including nine years as Managing Director of John Lewis.

The group said his successor will be announced in due course.

Street added: “It has been a privilege to lead John Lewis through a transformational period in the retail industry, and I am confident that we have built a business which will continue to thrive while being loyal to its principles.”
