Tyrrells has said it will create “hundreds of new jobs” following its acquisition by US group, Amplify Snack Brands. However, he clarified that the jobs would be created “globally” and not just in the UK.
Mike Hedges, MD of the premium crisps brand, said his company is set to grow rapidly following the £300m deal. In a media interview, Hedges noted: “We have no business in North America and Amplify has no business over here. They’re going to take the Tyrrells brand and roll it out in North America and we’ll take their SkinnyPop brand, and others, and do the same in the UK.”
Tyrrells currently employs around 500 people globally, of which around 300 are UK-based.
