Kettle Cuisine, a producer of chilled and frozen premium all natural soups, has acquired Del Monaco Foods, a privately held custom food manufacturer, for an undisclosed price. The deal is the second acquisition by Kettle Cuisine since it was bought by Kainos Capital in August 2015.
California-based Del Monaco produces soups, sauces and other speciality items for outsourced, private label, and contract manufacturing. Kettle claims the deal will make it the “only true coast to coast fresh soup producer” in the US – it will have two SQF Level 3 certified facilities in Lynn, Massachusetts and Morgan Hill, California.
Kettle Cuisine noted: “Del Monaco Foods is an impressive business. Vic Del Monaco and Tony Del Monaco have done a fantastic job of building a solid and successful team that has resulted in growth year after year since its founding. We’re excited to merge Del Monaco Foods with Kettle Cuisine and offer a truly national fresh soup programme.”
