Product of the Year is back to discover the UK’s most innovative new grocery products for 2020.
Now in its 16th year, Product of the Year is the biggest annual study of product innovation with more than 10,000 consumers voting in the UK and upwards of 200,000 globally.
Conducted by research company Kantar, products are voted for by the consumer for the consumer with the winning products rewarded with the right to display the iconic red Product of the Year logo.
Last year, 51 products from washing tablets to pet food and energy bars walked away with the title.
Judged for their level of innovation across a number of criteria including: function, recipe, design and packaging, the winning products are said to benefit hugely. 86% of shoppers have revealed that they are more likely to buy a product that carries the Product of the Year logo with brands recording an average sales increase of 10-15% with some uplifts as high as 135%.
This year, the introduction of the new Blogger Panel, as well as extensive influencer activation, has also ensured stand out social media visibility for the winning brands.
Commenting on the 2020 awards, Mike Nolan, CEO of Product of the Year said: “In 2020 we want to celebrate the brands that have launched products that are positively influencing consumers lives and providing them with everyday excellence they can rely on. Being so well recognised and respected by consumers, Product of the Year is a great tool to help boost sales and shout about a new product.
