IGD Awards To Celebrate Diversity, Sustainability And Entrepreneurship

For the last 28 years, the IGD Awards have recognised the outstanding achievements of the global food and grocery industry. This year is no exception, with 21 awards in the areas of business excellence, people development, sustainability and individual success to be contested.

This year’s Awards ceremony will be held on 7th November at Tobacco Docks, straight after IGD’s new flagship two-day event, IGD Live.

Three new categories have been added for this year: The IGD Diversity and Inclusion Award, The IGD E-commerce Packaging Excellence Award and the IGD McNicol Award for Entrepreneurship.

The IGD Diversity and Inclusion Award celebrates employers who have developed creative and impactful initiatives which support the development of a highly inclusive working environment. This could be an initiative that removes barriers to inclusivity, or a project that inspires a more diverse workforce.

The IGD E-commerce Packaging Excellence Award recognises the companies that have solved problems surrounding the packaging of online products to benefit the supply chain. Whether it’s the product’s original packaging or that which it’s shipped in, an expert panel of judges will be looking for an innovation that helps improve the flow of product through the fulfilment cycle and that tackles the environmental challenges posed by excess packaging, uses sustainable materials and minimises waste.

The IGD McNicol Award for Entrepreneurship, sponsored by McCurrach, acknowledges those individuals who through a combination of creativity, bold risk-taking and leadership have delivered a major commercial impact in their business.

The IGD Awards are free to enter and open to all companies whether large or small, food or non-food operators. The judges will acknowledge the relative impact of the entry based on your company’s size.
