Asda’s Former CFO Joins Board Of 2 Sisters Food’s Parent Company

Boparan Holdings, the parent company of the 2 Sisters Food Group, has announced the appointment of Alex Russo as a Non-Executive Director.

Russo is an experienced retail executive having worked for 25 years in the UK and overseas in leading listed and privately-owned companies.

He is currently Chief Financial Officer at Wilko, having previously held the same role at Asda for five years until 2018. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Tesco and Kingfisher.

Ranjit Singh, President of Boparan Holdings, said: “I am delighted Alex has decided to join the business.  He brings a wealth of experience and his expertise will be invaluable as we continue to build a better business.”

Russo added: “I am very pleased to be joining the Board of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business. The food sector is a dynamic environment with many challenges and I look forward helping the Boparan board on its growth journey.”

The 2 Sisters Food Group has made a string of disposals over the last year as part of ongoing moves to reduce its heavy debts and restructure its business to focus on its core operations.
