Waitrose Delivery Drivers To Handle Returns For John Lewis

Waitrose and John Lewis are optimising their relationship by allowing John Lewis customers to return their online purchases via the Waitrose grocery delivery service.

Waitrose.com shoppers can now hand back parcels they received from Johnlewis.com to the driver making their online grocery delivery.  The return service, which was trialled last year, is available in all postcodes served by Waitrose.com.

Ged Keogh-Peters, Director Supply Chain Strategy for the John Lewis Partnership, said: “We are excited to be at the forefront of new services to make online shopping as convenient and quick as possible.”

The move forms part of the John Lewis Partnership’s strategy to leverage its supply chain and offer additional convenience to customers of both brands.

Waitrose recently announced plans to treble the size of its online grocery operation to a £1bn business over the next three years. It also confirmed last week that it is extending its Rapid Delivery trial outside London for the first time.

Meanwhile, John Lewis has started trialling its click & collect service in six Co-op food stores as part plans to expand its reach to areas that have a lower shop presence.
