Pladis, the snacking group that owns the McVitie’s and Ulker brands, has appointed Sridhar Ramamurthy as its new Chief Financial Officer.

He joins the business from Unilever where he has worked in finance roles for over 30 years. Ramamurthy held key leadership positions in emerging and mature markets, including India, Singapore and the UK. He was Finance Controller for Unilever’s largest region (Asia/Africa), and CFO for Hindustan Unilever Limited, the largest FMCG company in India. In the UK, Ramamurthy held senior finance responsibilities for Unilever PLC including Group Treasurer and Executive Vice President, Enterprise Solutions.
As CFO for pladis, he will assume responsibility for leading the company’s financial management and other related functions spanning financial planning and forecasting, audit, tax, treasury and shared services. His accountabilities will cover all categories and geographies of the company.
Pladis highlighted that Ramamurthy was joining its leadership team as they focus on “driving innovation to increase revenues, improve operating capabilities, capture productivity and enhance profitability”.
He will report to the group’s recently appointed Chief Executive Officer, Salman Amin, who said: “Sridhar is a seasoned and respected financial executive who brings a deep and wide-ranging array of consumer product expertise and experiences to pladis as we continue our strategic transformation to grow our company.
“He has earned a reputation as a strong and versatile leader who has consistently demonstrated the financial and business acumen that makes him uniquely qualified to be our CFO.”
