Spar Uncorks Wine Club For Retailers

SPAR UK has launched a new ‘Wine Club’ in the UK for its retailers, aimed at boosting sales and raising the profile of its wine range. The new SPAR Wine Club also hopes to raise the quality credentials of the SPAR wine range and share best practice amongst retailers.

There are currently 30 members in the SPAR Wine Club, and it will open for new membership applications in 2020.  The current members have been selected by SPAR to stock the core range, support SPAR national wine promotions, and take part in all the club’s activities.

Members can access several benefits, such as specialist wine education and training, exclusive invitations to consumer and trade wine shows, benchmarking with SPAR’s Master of Wine (Philippa Carr), and the opportunity to win all-expenses paid, incentive-driven trips to some of the finest vineyards around the world.

Members will also receive customised in-store PoS, access to an exclusive portal on the SPAR website, plus dedicated WhatsApp and Facebook groups and a monthly newsletter.

Philippa Carr, SPAR’s Master of Wine, said: “I am thrilled to be able to support SPAR’s Wine Club. This is a fantastic opportunity for independent SPAR retailers who are serious about increasing their wine sales.  Our retailers involved will support the range, commit to national promotions and take part in all our activities. To have so many passionate retailers from Cornwall to Inverness supporting the growth of SPAR Brand wines is something we are really proud of.”

NAM Implications:
  • A no brainer!
  • In other words, little to lose in a trial run…
  • …allowing the retailer to focus on optimising traffic.
  • …with NAMs joining in as appropriate.
