Diageo has opened a new £6.4m Innovation and Research Centre in Scotland.
Located adjacent to the drinks giant’s existing International Technical Centre, the new laboratory will home its teams working on science, technology and innovation projects across the industry.
Diageo stated that the centre would play a key role in driving innovation in sustainability from grain-to-glass, including distillation, maturation, packaging and logistics.
David Cutter, Global President for Supply & Procurement and Chief Sustainability Officer at Diageo, commented: “For over a century we have been at the forefront of scientific and technological advances in the distilling industry and with these state-of-the-art facilities we are now investing in the next 100 years of innovation and growth.”
