Confectionery wholesaler Hancocks has announced that all 19 of its cash & carry branches will close from Sunday until it is deemed safe to reopen them.
The company said: “The safety for our colleagues, our customers, and suppliers has been at the forefront of our thinking and ultimately led to the decision we have made. We take great pride in being able to service our customers to the highest standards, from the specialist sweet shops and local village shops to large scale sweet businesses.
“However, as a nation we have to fight COVID19 together and responding to the advice of the government to restrict social contact and activity, we have decided this is the best way for us to do our part to support the UK through this.”
Before it shuts the doors, the confectionery specialist is focusing on supporting its customers to stock up and is encouraging them to use its click & collect service, which involves a ‘contactless pick-up’ from a cash & carry branch. The company will still make deliveries of orders made through its website.
