McColl’s Retail has appointed Giles David as its new Chief Financial Officer. He replaces Robbie Bell who announced his departure earlier this month to take up an equivalent role at Holland & Barrett.
David will join the convenience retailer from next week having previously worked for the Casual Dining Group, where he had been CFO since 2017.
He left the Casual Dining Group in December. The firm went into administration last week leaving the future of its Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge and Las Iguanas restaurants in jeopardy.
David has spent more than two decades in senior finance roles in retail, hospitality, property and telecoms, working for companies such as Wiggle, Brighthouse, O2 and Marks & Spencer.
Jonathan Miller, Chief Executive, said: “Giles is a highly experienced CFO with a real understanding of customer-facing businesses, and I’m delighted he’s joining McColl’s.
“This is a very busy time for our business with increased customer demand, as we work hard to serve customers in neighbourhoods across the UK, and we’re really looking forward to having Giles on board and benefiting from his expertise.”
McColl’s also announced today that its Chief Commercial Officer Richard Crampton, who joined the business last September, has been appointed to its Board.
