Following the government’s confirmation yesterday that non-essential retailers will be able to reopen their doors on 12 April, John Lewis has issued a statement saying its shops in England and Wales will begin trading again on the same day.
All its various in-store services for customers will resume with safety measures in place. Next day Click & Collect will also be available in stores in addition to the pick-up locations in Waitrose, Co-op and Booths outlets.
Pippa Wicks, Executive Director at John Lewis, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming our much-missed customers into our shops once more. We’re looking forward to reuniting customers with the joy of physical shopping, along with the excitement of our stores whilst also introducing our customers to stylish new products at prices they won’t expect.”
Last month, it was announced that eight of the 42 John Lewis department stores won’t reopen when the lockdown restrictions ease as part of moves to reshape its portfolio as more shopping moves online. The struggling retailer also recently revealed that it planned to roll out lower prices this month across its product ranges, whilst maintaining its focus on quality.
NAM Implications:
- Time for suppliers to ensure that they secure and maintain…
- …their fair share of investment and return.
