Shoppers Buying Low-Sugar And Reduced-Fat Versions Getting Less For Their Money

The Mail on Sunday claims shoppers buying low-sugar and reduced-fat versions of leading food brands are paying a “hidden health tax”.

The report highlights that the likes of Alpen, Muller, Heinz, Jordans and Trebor, as well as supermarkets such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda, all make healthy options priced the same as regular products – only smaller in size.

It is claimed that near identical-sized packaging is often used, meaning customers have no idea the healthier choice in effect costs more.
