The rapid delivery of items such as cold relief medicines, painkillers and pregnancy tests will be available from a further 110 LloydsPharmacy stores over the coming months via Deliveroo.
LloydsPharmacy first partnered with Deliveroo in 2020 to offer the delivery of medical essentials to households in as little as 30 minutes. The rollout will mean the service is available from a total of 150 LloydsPharmacy stores across the UK, including cities such as Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Coventry, and Manchester. The range on Deliveroo’s app covers 50 of LloydsPharmacy’s best-selling items.
Kevin Birch, Chief Retail Officer at LloydsPharmacy, said: “Although LloydsPharmacy patients can order online for next-day delivery, through our extended partnership with Deliveroo, more patients across the UK can access the care supplies they need in just 30 minutes. We’re committed to improving patient care, giving them greater choice and control as to how, where, and when they access care and medicines. The extension of our partnership with Deliveroo plays an important role in that mission.”
McKesson completed the sale of LloydsPharmacy to private equity firm Aurelius Group earlier this year. It has been reported that the struggling pharmacy chain is planning to sell a “substantial number” of its stores following another year of tough trading.
