Having announced back in May that its Chief Financial Officer Alex Russo would succeed Simon Arora as Chief Executive Officer, B&M has confirmed today that Russo will take up the role on 26 September.
Arora will retire from the CEO post on this date but continue to serve the Board as an Executive Director until the end of his notice period in April 2023.
Meanwhile, Mike Schmidt, who was previously announced as the successor to Russo in the role of CFO, will join the business on 17 October.
In June, B&M revealed that its first-quarter group revenues had fallen 2.2% to £1.16bn as it lapped buoyant trade in its stores during the Covid lockdowns the previous year.
