J&J Reveals New Name Of Soon To Be Spun Off Consumer Health Business

Johnson & Johnson’s (J&J) consumer health business will be called Kenvue when it is spun off next year in what will be the biggest shake-up in the conglomerate’s 135-year history.

The company announced the planned separation last year to create two separate businesses – the new Johnson & Johnson and the new consumer health company. J&J claims the move will ensure both companies are “better positioned to deliver improved health outcomes for patients and consumers through innovation, pursue more targeted business strategies and accelerate growth.”

The consumer business houses brands such as Tylenol, Band-Aid, Neutrogena, Aveeno, and Listerine, which generated revenues of $14.6bn in 2021.

The name Kenvue is a combination of ‘ken’, an English word for knowledge primarily used in Scotland, and ‘vue’ a reference to sight.

Usage of the new company logo and corporate brand identity will be effective upon completion of the planned separation, which J&J expects to complete by November 2023.

“Unveiling the Kenvue brand is a defining moment for our stakeholders and an important part of the planned separation,” said Thibaut Mongon, CEO Designate of Kenvue.

“We breathe life into some of the world’s most iconic and beloved brands every day, so we harnessed that same expertise, love, and energy into developing our new corporate identity.”
