Aldi has launched a new budgeting advice hub to support “cost-conscious customers”.
The ‘Amazing Savings’ page on the discounter’s website now offers a range of hints, tips and hacks to cut household costs, as well as budget-friendly recipes. The hub is the latest initiative from Aldi to help people during the cost-of-living crisis.
Earlier this week, Aldi narrowly beat its main rival Lidl to be named the cheapest UK supermarket over the last 12 months in a price comparison by consumer watchdog Which?.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “Amid budget pressures due to the current cost of living, we know that things are becoming much more difficult for UK households. That’s why we are more committed than ever to offering the lowest prices, while also doing whatever we can to further support customers.
“The aim of the hub is to provide customers with tips and information to keep costs low, as well as inspiration for ways to make budgets stretch further. We know that the times ahead will be challenging, but we’re here to help people always find the lowest prices when they shop with us.”
It was revealed yesterday that Aldi is axing its home delivery service for its non-food ‘Specialbuys’, as well as wine and spirits, to focus on opening new stores and keeping prices low.
NAM Implications:
- Preaching to the converted…
- Or reinforcing its core customer base.
- Either way, rivals can risk ignoring at their peril…
- Watch this space…
