Aldi Voted Britain’s Most Popular Supermarket

Aldi is Britain’s favourite supermarket, according to latest polling data from YouGov.

Shoppers ranked the discounter ahead of Lidl, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons in the study, with popularity measured by the percentage of people who have a positive opinion of a supermarket chain.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi, said: “We know that with the rising pressures of the cost of living, customers are looking for ways to save more than ever, while still looking for high-quality, affordable food.

“Aldi continues to offer great quality products at unbeatable prices, which is why we believe British shoppers have voted us the nation’s favourite supermarket yet again.”

Recent Kantar data showed that Aldi had attracted an additional 1.3m shoppers over the last year, whilst various price comparisons have confirmed that it remains the UK’s cheapest supermarket.

NAM Implications:
  • Still need a reason for working with Aldi…
  • (and Lidl?)
