Former John Lewis Exec Named Named MD Of Just Eat UK

Claire Pointon has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Just Eat’s operations in the UK and Ireland.

She has over 20 years of commercial experience in customer strategy, brand innovation and marketing. Most recently, Pointon held the position of Customer Director at John Lewis, where she led the customer function, both digitally and in-store.

Prior to that, she worked at Dixons Carphone, where she joined as a Customer and Commercial Director before being appointed to Chief Product Officer and Chief Customer and Commercial Officer.

Pointon has also held senior positions at Kerry Foods and Deutsche Telekom.

Commenting on the new role, she said. “I’m delighted to be joining Just Eat Takeaway.com at such an exciting time for the business. Online food delivery is increasingly becoming a part of our daily lives, with more customers than ever looking for convenience and choice online.

“The passion from the team for leading the industry, our customers and partners is clear to see, and I’m looking forward to leading the UK and Ireland’s next phase of the journey.”

She succeeds Andrew Kenny, who joined Just Eat Takeaway.com’s management board as Chief Commercial Officer last year.

The grocery estate on the Just Eat platform has expanded to over 2,500 sites in the last year, working with the likes of Asda, Sainsbury’s and the Co-op. It also recently partnered with Iceland, offering a rapid delivery service from more than 200 stores.
