Young’s Grows Premium Gastro Brand

Young’s Seafood is adding two new products to its Gastro range after seeing significant sales growth.

The new Gastro Tempura Battered Roast Garlic & Herb Sole Fillets and the Gastro Signature Breaded Sweet Chilli Fish Fillets are launching in Iceland this month and have been designed to appeal to consumers seeking “affordable, tasty dishes they can enjoy at home while retaining the feel-good factor of eating out”.

The launches come after a period of strong growth for the Gastro brand, with sales up 20.8% in the past 12 weeks to £19m and annual sales sitting at £78.1m, an increase of 9.1% over the past year.

Following the introduction of the Sole species into the Gastro range with the launch of its Sicilian Lemon Pepper Sole Fillets in 2022, Young’s has launched a second Sole product into the range with the new Tempura Battered Roast Garlic & Herb Sole Fillets. They come in a 280g pack that serves two (RRP £4.50) and aim to offer shoppers a different species alternative to traditional Cod and Haddock for mid-week ‘dinner for tonight’ options and weekend meal occasions.

Meanwhile, Young’s Signature Breaded Sweet Chilli Fish Fillets (RRP £4.50) are said to be the ideal option for adding “excitement” to a mid-week meal when served alongside an Asian salad or noodles, making it an appealing choice for younger consumers and those seeking new flavour options.
