Yakult has announced that its Yakult Light range is being renamed to Yakult Balance across Europe, including the UK.
At the same time, the brand is rejuvenating the packaging across its portfolio of Yakult Original, Yakult Plus and Yakult Balance. The new design aims to better highlight each product’s flavour profile and nutritional benefits.
The brand noted the contents inside the bottle are not changing, with each bottle of Yakult Balance still containing billions of gut-friendly L. casei Shirota bacteria. The product is also enriched with vitamins D and E.
The launch of Yakult Balance will be supported by PR, broadcast media, digital, shopper marketing and OOH activity.
Hiroaki Yoshimura, MD for Yakult UK & Ireland, commented: “We know that looking after one’s wellbeing can feel like a juggling act for many consumers. With Yakult Balance, we hope to provide consumers a simple small step to support their daily wellbeing while delighting their taste buds.
“With taste and health continuing to be top priorities for consumers, we’ve ensured that the new packaging puts the nutritional benefits and flavours front and centre in an approachable, eye-catching manner.”
Yakult Balance will be available from major retailers, including Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose, Ocado, and Booths.
Yakult Balance comes in both 8-pack and 15-pack. RSP will vary between retailers but will start from £3.69.
NAM Implications:
- Always takes courage to change an established brand.
- But the new Yakult livery appears to be a step forward in each variant.
- With the added reassurance that the contents remain unchanged.
- Should make a difference…
