Sainsbury’s is launching a half-price offer on all Heinz branded products via its Nectar Prices scheme.
From tomorrow until Sunday, members of its loyalty programme can benefit from the savings on over 150 Heinz products when purchased in Sainsbury’s supermarkets or online.
Discounts include:
- Heinz Cream of Chicken Soup (400g) – 85p with Nectar Prices (£1.70 without Nectar)
- Heinz Tomato Pasta Sauce for Bolognese (350g) – £1 with Nectar Prices (£2 without Nectar)
- Heinz Tomato Ketchup (460g) – £1.70 with Nectar Prices (£3.40 without Nectar)
- Heinz Beanz (6 x 415g multipack) – £2.75 with Nectar Prices (£5.50 without Nectar)
- Heinz Mayonnaise (775g) – £2 with Nectar Prices (£4 without Nectar)
The exclusive offer follows the completion of the Nectar Prices rollout across Sainsbury’s last week when it started offering discounts on frozen products for the first time. The scheme, which launched in April, now offers lower prices on over 5,000 products.
The retailer claims that its customers have saved over £244m through Nectar Prices, with an average saving of £3.15 every time they shop.
Rachel Clark, Director of Grocery for Sainsbury’, said: “At Sainsbury’s, we’re always looking for new ways to provide great value to our customers. This market-leading, first-of-its-kind Nectar promotion on all Heinz branded products does just that. Allowing customers to add their favourite household staples to their shopping baskets at a brilliant price.”
Jojo Lins De Noronha, President of Kraft Heinz Northern Europe, added: “We’ve teamed up with Sainsbury’s to offer shoppers even greater value for money on family favourites like Heinz Baked Beanz and Heinz Tomato Ketchup. With 50% off all weekend, Nectar-card holders can enjoy the great taste of Heinz with considerable savings at the checkout.”
NAM Implications:
- Nectar is playing catchup with Clubcard.
- And perhaps nudging ahead via a targeted offer on specific lines?
- All now depends on shopper reaction…
