Investing too much, too early.
That’s because you need the margins to grow your 1P business through:
- Running advertising campaigns
- Settling shortages/chargebacks
- Funding sales activities (e.g. discounts)
- Onboarding NPDs (e.g. via born-to-run)
- Financing of other marketing (e.g. content creation)
- Commissioning of Amazon experts/service providers
- Etc.
Your Vendor Manager will not (and mostly cannot) increase the revenue on your account.
If you invest too much too early, you risk being swallowed up by the ever-growing costs in the early lifecycle stages of your vendor business.
So instead, make sure you keep enough margin to grow your Amazon business in the long run.
