Hunter & Gather, a brand that champions ancestrally inspired nutrition, has secured its first major supermarket listing with Tesco for three SKUs of its seed oil, sugar, and artificial chemical preservatives-free avocado oil mayonnaise.
The listing comes after Tesco recently announced that Hunter & Gather will be part of its accelerator programme. Hunter & Gather, alongside the other chosen brands, will have access to a year-long programme of mentoring, learning and development, with their products stocked in Tesco stores and online to help accelerate their growth.
Three varieties of its mayonnaise will launch mid-April – Classic, Garlic, and Chipotle & Lime (£4.00 – 175g jar). All are produced in small batches in the UK and contain only real food and a base of four ingredients: Pure avocado oil, British free range egg yolks, apple cider vinegar, and pink Himalayan salt. Gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free, each jar of mayonnaise contains less than 1g of carbs per 100g, plus eight or more avocados.
Amy Moring, co-founder and CEO of Hunter & Gather, commented: “We’re really excited to be launching three of our mayonnaise SKUs into Tesco this April. It’s a huge first for us and is part of our dream for Hunter & Gather to be available in all major supermarkets in the UK and Europe, and cross-category, providing healthier seed oil-free, refined sugar-free and grain-free solutions across all grocery touch points.
“We want consumers to know that if they see the Hunter & Gather logo in any category, it’s going to be of the highest quality and has their health at the forefront. We’re a brand that puts people and the planet first, something that is recognised in our B Corp certification. Quality, transparency and integrity are key to what we are about and most other brands, particularly in the mayonnaise category, don’t stand up to scrutiny.”
NAM Implications:
- A great opportunity for Hunter & Gather to benefit from Tesco’s accelerator programme.
- Meanwhile, more established rivals and others can benefit from assessing the merits of the programme for new entrants…
