The John Lewis Partnership (JLP) has announced that its Executive Director for Finance, Bérangère Michel, will be leaving business later this year to “pursue her future career options”.
Michel (known as Bey) has spent the past 16 years in various senior leadership positions across retail, supply chain and customer operations in both John Lewis and Waitrose, before taking up her current post at the beginning of 2021. JLP noted that Michel had supported the “improved performance and long-term financial health” of the business.
She said: “After 16 fantastic years in the Partnership, and with the business on a strong financial footing with funding secured for the next phase of the plan, it feels like the right time to move on.”
Chairman Sharon White added: “She will leave the Partnership in a much stronger financial position, overseeing a return to profit, record investment planned for this year and debt at historic lows. Bey has played an instrumental role on the Executive Team and Board and has our very best wishes as she seeks her next challenge.”
The group stated that the process of recruitment to appoint Michel’s successor will now begin. She is expected to leave the Partnership by the autumn.
