Aldi is looking for someone to become its official ‘Crisp Taster’, a new role for the discounter.
The successful applicant will receive a selection of Aldi’s most popular crisps to sample at home for free and also get an exclusive first try of products yet to hit its shelves.
All that’s required in return is a set of reviews rating the crisps’ taste, crunch, texture and appearance to help guide the supermarket’s buying team in developing its future range.
All potential candidates must be aged 16 and over and need to create a short application video explaining why they should be Aldi’s first Crisp Taster. Entrants also have to include examples of their favourite Aldi crisps, as well as any snacking opinions that may help them stand out. Further details and terms and conditions can be found on Aldi’s Crisp Taster web page.
“What our shoppers think is so important to us. It’s crucial we listen to their honest feedback so we can ensure our products continue to deliver on taste, while also offering unbeatable value,” said Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK.
“Sales of snacks such as crisps and nuts skyrocketed by 40% during the World Cup in 2022, so we expect our crisps to be in high demand this summer with Euros 2024. What better timing to find out what our most passionate snack fans have to say?”
NAM Implications:
- We can understand the potential appeal of a competition resulting in a (large panel) of tasters/influencers…
- …but a single person representing the customer base?
