Samworth Brothers’ food-to-go unit ‘Fresh Food For Now Company’ has announced the launch of two new savoury bars for the travel, forecourt and impulse channels.
The Buffet Bar and Scotch Egg Bar are available in shelf-ready packaging to improve visibility on fixture.
Protein-packed, the bars combine several of the UK’s most reached-for snack formats. The Buffet Bar is British sausage meat filled with crunchy coleslaw, soft cheese and mayo, wrapped in crispy breadcrumbs.
Tapping into the snacking staple of a savoury egg, the Scotch Egg bar sees sausage meat filled with seasoned egg mayonnaise, encased in a breadcrumb coating.
The brand noted that out-of-home snacking is particularly buoyant, worth £3.8bbn across a variety of channels. With the likes of forecourts and travel over-indexing on all-day grazing, the new bars are aimed as an on-the-go option or lunch ‘add on’ for operators in this space.
