Flora is launching its Plant B+tter in a Smoked Garlic flavour exclusively in 250 Sainsbury’s stores from 29 September.
The brand noted that as a plant-based b+tter, with smoked garlic, it is a category-first for butters, spreads, and margarines (BSM).
Launching in 125g format with a recommended base cost of £1.75 (prices may vary), Flora Smoked Garlic furthers the brand’s mission to provide “better-for-the-planet alternatives to dairy without sacrificing on delicious taste”.
The product can be added to various dishes, such as pasta, for extra flavour.
Ian Hepburn, Marketing Director, UK, Upfield, said: “We’re excited to launch Flora Smoked Garlic as a category first and, once again, push the boundaries of what’s possible with plant-based innovation. We know the UK loves garlic in their food and so it has always been an ambition to bring this iconic flavour to our product range.
“It’s a testament to Flora’s incredible research & development team that we’ve been able to achieve this feat in less than 12 months. This is yet another example of how industry-leading innovation is making it easier for people to enjoy their favourite flavours with delicious products that have less climate impact than dairy.”
Flora Smoked Garlic is suitable for vegans and free of any allergens. It will roll out across other major retailers in the coming months.
