How To Get Your Product Re-Listed With Amazon

By Martin Heubel, Amazon Strategy Consultant at Consulterce

Help! My ASIN got delisted on Amazon. What can I do?

Most 1P vendors will have encountered this situation. The delisted item may even have a higher Net PPM than the vendor account.

There are many reasons why a product gets delisted:

  • Manual profit interventions from Vendor Managers
  • One-off events like liquidations that spike Amazon’s costs
  • Decline in product ASP due to 3P sellers or price matching
  • Heavy/bulky products that require higher Net PPM margins
  • High return rates due to missing or incomplete PDP content

The problem is:

Vendor Managers will seek cost support no matter the reason for the delisting.

Which puts you at risk of financing the defect but not eliminating it.

So whenever a product gets delisted:

  1. Ignore the Net PPM or margin demands from Amazon
  2. Review ASP performance vs the last quarter and YoY
  3. Assess changes to return rates and defective inventory
  4. Benchmark your 1P margins vs Amazon’s 3P FBA rate card
  5. Understand if it’s a one-off or structural margin defect

Once you have gone through the above, you’ll be in a better position to assess your options for getting the product re-listed.
